Bertha B. Bailey
Bertha B. BAILEY, 91, South Bend, died at 2:40 a.m. today at Memorial hospital, South Bend. She had been ill for four years.
She was born Aug. 20, 1887, in Vishy, Mo., to Caleb and Ida BABCOCK CASTLEMAN and had lived in South Bend since 1918. Her first marriage was to Peter HANSON, who preceded in death. Her second marriage was to Frank BAILEY, who also preceded in death. Mrs. Bailey attended the former Rochester Normal college and taught school in North Dakota. She also was associated with a South Bend bank and for 20 years served as the bookkeeper for Castleman Brothers Livestock Sales.
Surviving is a brother, Clyde CASTLEMAN, Leiters Ford. Nine brothers and sisters preceded in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Foster & Good funeral home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Rocheter. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Thursday and on Friday until the hour of service.
