Son of Joseph Manton Barrineau and Sarah Elizabeth McConnell, Joseph Rich Barrineau married Harriett Jane Kirton on October 11, 1919. They had seven children, Mary Elizabeth (Marjerline), J. K., John Manton, Mervin, Olphia, Marsena and Quinn. He was predeceased by two of the children, John Manton(1927) and Marsena(1971). He served in the US Army during World War I.

BARRINEAU-Entered into eternal rest on the evening of June 1, 1975 at Georgetown, SC, Joseph Rich Barrineau of 133 Mixson Ave., North Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rich Barrineau are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at the North Charleston Church of God, Wednesday, June 4th, 1975 at 2 o'clock. Interment Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Stuhr's North Area Chapel after 12:00 o'clock (Noon) Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Charleston County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
