Lyman was in the 1870 census and not found in the 1880 census. So, evidently he died between the two. Lyman's brother Oliver and his wife Sarah had a son born on January 20, 1874. They named him Lyman. It's possible that he was named in honor of his 'late' Uncle Lyman. Which, if so, it would give the year of Lyman's death as between July 1870 - Jan 1874.

I have looked for any info that would give a date of death, but nothing to be found. So, for now I can only show the dates as between July 1870 - June 1880.
