Joshua removed with his parents to Readsboro VT, where he married Cerinda Trivett December 1, 1812. A few years later he removed to Leon, Cattaraugus, NY. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and served for many years as a justice of the peace(trial justice), in Leon: was noted for his impartiality and good judgement.

15. JOSHUA FAIRBANKS was born October 31, 1790 in Douglas, Worcester, Massachusetts, and died October 16, 1862 in Leon, Cattaraugus, New York. He married CERINDA TRIVETT December 1, 1812 in Readsboro, Vermont. She was born 1791 in Connecticut, and died 1853 in Leon, Cattaraugus, New York, daughter of Benjamin C. and Hannah (Rice) Trevett.
