Will Steele, Jr. was born January 9, 1929, to Will Steele and Lucy Rush Steele in Kemper County, MS.

During his youth, he joined New Hope United Methodist Church in DeKalb, MS, and later worshipped with Mt. Zion Moscow Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS.

On July 12, 1948, he married Ora B. Henson, the daughter of Elmer Henson and Rosie Griffin Henson, and they had ten children, six daughters and four sons.

He was a hard working man. He worked as a farmer, orderlie at Jeff Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS; and as a construction worker with the Kemper County Board of Supervisor under the administration of Supervisor Fred Chisolm.

He died April 28, 2000, at the age of 71.

He was the Husband of Ora B. Henson Steele; the Father of Willie Ruth Steele Thames, Lizzie Carolyn "Cat" Steele Woodson, Dorisene "Doris" Steele, Tobie Gene Steele, Ouida Raye Steele Grace, Rosie Coleen Steele Thompkins, Dwight Steele, Norman Steele, Michelle Lynette Steele Brooks, and Reggie Steele; the Son of Will Steele and Lucy Rush Steele; the Step Son of Dossie M.
