Pamela was born on Jan. 3, 1936, to Earnest and Kathleen (Hurdle) Carey, in Somerset, England.
She grew up in England and on Aug. 19, 1961, married Arville Neel. Arville was in the Air Force and they resided in England and the Philippines before coming to the U.S. in 1964. They were stationed in several states before Arville retired. Having spent time at Kingsley Field during Arville's military career brought them back Klamath Falls to live out the rest of their years.
Pamela was a homemaker raising five children. She loved Christmas and other holidays that brought family together. She also liked gardening, the music of Rod Stewart and Celine Dion, collecting frogs, shopping and traveling to the Oregon Coast. Family was most important to her. She is remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who selflessly helped in so many ways, including as caregiver for her son Anthony, who is a quadriplegic, for approximately 15 years.
She is survived by son Anthony Neel; daughter Patsey Alexander; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Ron Probst; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Eric Poppe; daughter Melissa Neel; and special friend KT Lynch, all of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Loren Alexander and his fiancee Nora Buckner, Alicia Martin, Nick Trenchard, Jasmin Benson, and Jordan and Kennedy Poppe. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Howard and Lyla Carey and brother Michael Carey, along with numerous other relatives in England.
Pamela's wishes were to have her remains brought back to England and placed in her home church in Walton-in-Gordano.
She was preceded in death by husband Arville Neel and sister Pauline Carey.
A private family memorial service is planned. Eternal Hills is in charge of all the arrangements.
