Lavern Lee, 53, 1115 14th Ave South, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at home.
Lavern Lee was born November 20, 1944, the son of Raymond and Alice (Patterson) Lee, in East Grand Forks. He grew up and graduated from Central High School, Grand Forks. He lived in Grygla and Gentilly, Minnesota. In 1957, he moved to Grand Forks where he worked at Toby's Drive Inn. He married Karen Ann Zeis on September 25, 1965, in Crookston. He Joined the U.S, Army until retiring in 1986. He lived in Germany until 1991, moving to Omaha, Nebraska, and recently to Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife; a son Donald (Jolene) East Grand Forks; daughters, Tammie Jo (Lance) Kilgore, Sharpe, Belgium, Theresa Ann Lee, Omaka, and Katherine Marie (Steven) Hankin, Lakenheath, England; six grandchildren; brothers, Earl, Grand Forks, Donald, East Grand Forks, Billy, Walker, Minnesota, Allen and Charles both of Valley City, North Dakota, Terry, West Fargo, North Dakota, and Clifford, Luray, Virgina; and sisters Mary Jane Laughery, Crookston, and Peggy Dozhier, Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks. Memorials are suggested to hospice.
