Wyatt Bailey was born in 1794 at Anderson Co., SC. He married Margaret "Peggy" Turner in 1817 at Anderson Co., SC. In 1834, several Bailey families, including Wyatt, moved to Bibb Co, Al. He died in 1868 at Bibb Co., Alabama and was buried at Friendship 1, Bibb Co., Alabama.

Wyatt was born around 1794 in the Pendleton District, SC. Pendleton District was established by the Acts of 1798, vol 7 P-252 and lay north of the Indian boundary and between the Seneca and Saluda Rivers, and before 1789 was attached to Abbeville Co. Pendleton was named in honor of Judge Henry Pendleton, a native of VA.

Many of the residence worshiped at the "Old Stone church", and were Presbyterian, and many of them were buried there.

Wyatt and Margaret married around 1816, and lived on his Father's Plantation (James Bailey). By 1819 his Father had died, and he lived on there taking care of his Mother, Mary Bailey. Wyatt was listed on the 1820 Census of the Pendleton District, p-163, by A. Patterson with 3 males and 3 females and 2 slaves living in his household. By 1830 his mother had passed away, and he sold his land before 1835, and left and moved to Bibb County,AL.

In 1840 when the census of Bibb County was taken, Wyatt Bailey's household had listed on p-117 in the Holman Beat, 4 males, 4 females. Their son, Green Berry W. Bailey and wife Clarissa Kyser, married in 1839, were living beside Henry Avery and William Palmer.

Wyatt and Margaret farmed in the Friendship Community in Bibb County, and 6 of their 7 children were living with them. Green Berry W. Bailey and his wife Clarissa moved to Coffee County, AL, where they raised their family.

When the 1880 census was taken by NB Coer in T-22, R-8, James Bailey was living with his niece, Sarah Margaret Eleam, and Margaret Bailey was living with her sister, Sarah Emeline Avery.

All of Wyatt and Margaret Bailey's children were born in South Carolina except for Green Berry who was born just a few miles away, just across the state line, in Hart County, Georgia.
