Michael was born the son of Vernon and Margaret Gropp Vickery. Mr. Vickery was self-employed in concrete construction. He attended Eastridge High School and enjoyed raising dogs, fishing, and hunting. Surviving are his wife, the former Tonia Young, whom he married Jan. 20, 1983, in Kankakee; three daughters, Audrea Vickery and Andrea Vickery, both of Aroma Park, Teresa Rose of Morocco, Ind.; eight grandchildren; his mother of Aroma Park; two brothers, Wesley Vickery and Terrence Vickery, both of Aroma Park; best friend and fishing buddy, Ben Hale; uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and one niece. Deceased are his father; maternal grandparents, Edward and Valeria Gropp; paternal grandparents, Claud and Maud Vickery; one nephew, Todd A. Vickery; two uncles and one aunt.
