Wilhelmina Celeste Etheredge DeLony, age 72, of Leighton, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Shoals Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home chapel in Tuscumbia, with Brother Mark Wakefield officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Town Creek. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. DeLony was a native of Morgan County and a member of the Methodist church. She was a homemaker and a loving mother.
Mrs. DeLony is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eugene S. DeLony Sr.; her mother, Pauline Pennington; her father, Leon Etheredge; her brother, C.J. Etheredge; her sister, Betty Joyce "Pat" Witt; and granddaughter, Amber Shea Conner.
Mrs. Delony is survived by one son, Eugene "Butch" DeLony and wife, Kathy Jean, of Muscle Shoals; one daughter, Susan DeLony Conner and husband, Mike; two granddaughters, Kimi Conner and Misty DeLony Gargis; one grandson, Kevin DeLony; and one great-grandson, Colby Reid Gargis.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Saint, Brandon Saint, Dwight "Doc" Witt, Dempsey Copeland, Glover "Fat" Richey and Donald Kidd.
Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia is directing.
