He served in the Union Army at very end of Civil War- He served in Co1 of the 14th Reg. of Mo. Cavalry. His grandaughter Louise said that during the Civil war he was 16 and was captured by bushwackers and forced to serve in Union army. He said he would never pull a trigger since his brothers were serving in the Conferate Army.
