Doyle, age 99, died at Hiawatha Community Hospital. He was the son of Andrew J. and Sarah (Davis) Derrick. He graduated from Highland High School. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and was in charge of loading bombs on M.C. Fighter Bombers at Guadalcanal. He married Virginia Sophie Zayonc. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings, Lissie Lovelady, Charlie Derrick, Omer Derrick, and Andy Derrick. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Derrick. Funeral services were held at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland. Burial, with military honors, was held in Highland Cemetery.
