Leeon Kirk Brinkerhoff, age 57, of Bicknell, died August 31, 1995 at the University of Utah Medical Center of cancer.
He was born June 13, 1938 in Bicknell, a son of Walter Kirk and Cleo Ellett Giles Brinkerhoff. He married Susan Day May 28, 1961 in Loa. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple June 19, 1965. They were later divorced.He married Lila Ann DeLeeuw, October 20, 1978 in Bicknell. Leeon worked for over 20 years in law enforcement. He served as Wayne County Sheriff for four years, retiring January 1, 1995.
He is survived by his wife of Bicknell; three sons and three daughters and their spouses, Ricky and Connie Brinkerhoff of Loa; Stacy Brinkerhoff of Phoenix, Ariz.; Roger and Shannon Brinkerhoff of Kansas City, Missouri; Mike Trujillo of San Anita, Calif.; Julie and Mark Wardle of Bicknell; Trudy and Dax DeBerry of Murray; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Emil W. and Lois Brinkerhoff of Las Vegas, Nev.; Morris H. Brinkerhoff of Riverton; Leah Rae and Larry Deem of Las Vegas, Nev.; Ada Ann and Jim Jensen of Centerville; Patsy and Keith Hampton of Redmond. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Brinkerhoff.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 4, 1995 at 1 p.m., in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, 260 North 400 West, Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Bicknell, Monday from 11 to 12:30 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
