Mrs. Charles G. Grate of 823 Fulton St. Keokuk, Iowa, passed away at St. Joseph hospital, Dec. 15, 1938, at 7:15 a.m., after a lingering illness of many months.
Mrs. Grate before her marriage was Susie Cook, daugher of the late Lemuel Cook and Georetta (Wilson) Cook. She was born in Clark County, MO., August 18, 1878, being at the time of her passing, 60 years, 3 months and 16 days of age.
She is survived by her husband and one son, James S. Grate, at home, and the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Luella Barrows, Wyaconda, Mo., Mrs. Lillian Barrows, San Bernadino, Calif.; Gilbert Cook, MIlan Kas.; Mrs. Charles (Jessie) Snyder, Ashton, Mo.; Wm. M. Cook, Davenport, Ia, and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Br? Funeral Home, Keokuk, at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, conducted by Rev. Ramsey of the first Christian church of Keokuk. Interment was in Sunset Memorial cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa."
