Ralph served as a Private, Battery K, 60th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), Coast Artillery Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Bosque County, Texas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Coast Artillery Corps on March 12, 1941, prior to the war, in Dallas, Texas. He was noted as being employed as a Farm hand and also as Single, without dependents.

Ralph became a Prisoner Of War of the Japanese Army and was held at the Hoten Pow Camp, Mukden, Manchuria.

He was one of 19 POW's "Killed In Action" when two bombs from an American B-29 stuck the camp.

He received the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in the Hoten POW Camp Cemetery in China and was later repatriated here.
