Mrs. Altha Hitt McClain, 96, died at a Jackson nursing home. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Wiseman, she married Robert Hitt on Nov. 4, 1904; married William M. McClain on Aug. 17, 1953. Survived by a son, Thomas Hitt; daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Tidwell, Mrs. Viola Hahs, Mrs. Irene Vandeford, Mrs. Lucille Eakins; stepsons, Henry McClain, Willis McClain, Lester McClain, Russell McClain, John McClain; stepdaughters, Mrs. Alma Miller, Mrs. Altha Hearing; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; ;7 great great grandchildren; 30 stepgrandchildren; 37 great stepgrandchildren; and 11 great great stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
