She is survived by four daughters, Eleanor (Robert) Henry of Jackson, MO., Kathy Wenke of Athens, Jeanne (Rick) Hector of Riverton and Becky (Dennis) Wilson of Athens; three sons, Curt Aiken of Sherman, Mark (Debbie) Aiken of Athens and Tim Aiken of Petersburg; one brother, Teddy (Mary) Kennelly; two sisters, Mary Jo (Dean) Johnson and Betty (Don) McRoberts; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on February 23, 2005; and two brothers, Virgil & Eugene.
Mrs. Aiken was born on April 30, 1928, in Maquon, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mae Simkins Kennelly. She married Richard Aiken on October 13, 1946, at Maquon, Illinois.
Mrs. Aiken graduated from Maquon High School in 1945 at 17 years old. She then attended Western Illinois University. She was a department supervisor for the state of Illinois Department of Registration and Education for 17 years.
Mrs. Aiken was a member of the Maquon Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Rev. Clint Cook officiating.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
