Major League Baseball Player. During his nine-year career in the majors he played second base for three teams: the St. Louis Cardinals (1933 to 1935), New York Giants (1936 to 1941), and finished with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1946). He had a career batting average of .266 with 245 runs batted in. He was chosen to play in the All Star Game in 1935 and 1937. He led the National League in fielding percentage for second basemen in 1937.
