Joseph "Joe Don" Baker, of Cardwell, Mo., son of Glen Baker and Barbara Finley Baker, was born Aug. 21, 1976 in Kennett. Joe Don departed this life on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at the age of 32 years, six months and two days.
Joe Don and his father were owners of Baker Construction in Kennett. He was a certified welder.

On June 10, 200o, in Cardwell, he married Melinda "Susie" Kelley, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Austin Baker, of Cardwell; one daughter, Haven Baker, of Cardwell; his father and mother, Glenn and Barbara Baker, of Kennett; one sister, Amanda Belcher and husband, Jason, of Kennett; a grandmother, Marie Finley, of Kennett, and nephews, nieces, several cousins and aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Millard Finley and grandfather and grandmother, Roy Baker and Winnie Neff Baker.

John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Thursday, Feb. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman and Brother Vodie Jackson officiating.

Burial was in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville, Mo.

Pallbearers were Danny and Benny Baker, James Childers, Lee Train, David Wright and Brandon Adams.
