One of the most active war workers is Mrs. Lionel Moses, of St. Louis, formerly Miss Julia Walker, of this city, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. J. B. Huff, coming to Columbus especially for the wedding of her niece, Miss Gladys Huff, to Mr. Edward Everett, which was an interesting event of late October.

Mrs. Moses is president of the marine service corps in St. Louis, and a most enthusiastic and ardent worker. She has an office in the business district; a private secretary, and can always be found there during office hours, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

This organization is chartered, and is similar to the Red Cross social service. Mothers are given information about their sons who are in the marine corps, and any other service possible is rendered to the marines as well as to their families.

Lt. Stanford Hunter Moses and Mrs. Moses, of the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Paris Island, near Charleston, S.C., left this morning for St. Louis, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Lionel B. Moses.
Lieutenant Moses is recuperating from a recent attack of Spanish influenza, and he and his wife will spend his leave of absence with his parents in St. Louis.

Moses-Mrs. Lionel B. Moses, 80, a native of Columbus, died Sunday morning in an Evanston, Ill., hospital from complications resulting from a broken hip. Mrs. Moses was the former Julia Walker of Columbus. Her husband also is a native of Columbus and a grandson of the late Major Raphael J. Moses of Esquiline Plantation. The couple was married here in 1896. They had made their home in Evanston for the past 40 years. Mr. Moses is vice president of Parade Magazine. Mrs. Moses was born here Nov. 11, 1879, a daughter of the late Simeon Armstrong Walker and Louisa Brown Walker. . .
