Sarah J. "Sallie" (shown as Sally) is the daughter of John W. and Sarah J. Reeves Blankenship. Raised in Gibson Co., she has 1 sister and 2 brothers to my current knowledge and they are:
William Travis Blankenship 1856 -
Elizabeth J. Blankenship 1858 -
Emerson Ethridge Blankenship 1859 - 193
She married John E. "Jack" Bryant 27 Feb 1889, in Gibson Co., TN. They raised 2 daughters and 2 sons. They are:
Hazel Bryant 1890 – 1942
Herman Milton Bryant 1892 – 1964
Harriet Gladys Bryant 1898 – 1964
Jack Emerson Bryant 1900 – 1973
Sallie died of Uterine Cancer.
This headstone has several mistakes i.e. she spelled her nickname "Sallie" as did her mother. They were both named Sarah. This marker also has incorrect dates. I've looked at each person in this family and in my Bryant lineage after she married Jack. The data above is as accurate as I can make it for her Blankenship family so I feel fairly sure this is the correct bio information for this person. That means the headstone has incorrect dates also. It does happen. If anyone is in dispute with this data due to family history, please feel free to contact me.
Rest peacefully Sallie....
