Henry Davison Wise was born in Cattaraugus County, New York, on the 8th day of January, 1828, and died on March 14, 1910, at his home in Huntley, Minn.
He was wedded to Miss Electa A. Fairbanks in 1846, came to Fond Du Lac County, Wis., in 1855, and removed to Verona, this county, in 1862, and has resided in this township continuously since.
Mr. Wise was the father of nine children, grandfather to twenty-four children, and great-grandfather of twenty-three children.
The living children are A. P. and E. E. Wise, of Granada, Minn., A. W. Wise, of Jo Davis township, and L. H. Wise of North Yakima, Wash. The daughters are Mrs. Dell Oothoudt, of Verona and Mrs. A. E. Fezler, who has resided with and cared for her parents for the past few years.
Mr. Wise has always been a kind husband and father and a man that has held the esteem of the community of which he has been a member so long, and has left many warm friends aside of the host of relatives to mourn his loss; no, not his loss but ours, and his gain."

Mrs. Electa A. Wise departed this life early Wednesday morning, July 28, 1915, at her home in Huntley, after an illness of about a month. Death was caused by a tumor that, owing to her age, could not be removed.
Electa A. Fairbanks was born in August, 1826, at Leon, Cattaraugus County, N.Y., removing to Wisconsin early in life. She was married to H. D. Wise in 1846, coming to Faribault County in 1862, just prior to the Sioux Indian outbreak on August 18th of that year. Mrs. Wise was the mother of five boys and four girls. Of the boys, Philonzo, Elbert, Abner, and Lee and of the girls, Mrs. Emerette Fuller and Mrs. DeEtte Oothoudt survive her.
Mrs. Wise has long been a member of the Free Methodist church and has always lived a Christian life. She was a good mother and kind neighbor and friend, best beloved by those who knew her best.
Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday at 2 p.m., interment in the Verona cemetery.
