From The Orange Leader, Orange, Texas, Wednesday, August 18, 1982 : Funeral services for Kelly Elgene "Gene" Casey, 73, of Orange will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fuller Funeral Home. The Rev. Preston Barrett, pastor of the First christian Church in Orange, will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in West Orange. Pallbearers will be Durwood Casey, Larry Casey, Allen Casey, Lane Casey, Evan Casey a nd Donny Casey. He died Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after an illness. A native of Temple, he lived in Orange 65 years and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church. He is the retired superintendent of Equitable Bag Co. paper mill division, where he had been employed 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Edna Casey of Orange; two stepsons, Wynne P. Stewart and George W. McCray, both of Orange; one stepdaughter, Gloria McCray of Orange; two brothers, J.P. (sic) Casey and E. Durwood Casey, both of Orange; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
