Mr. John Wesley Morris Sr., 65, of Route 1, Dearing, Georgia, entered into rest Saturday, July 23, 1983, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, Thomson, with the Rev. C.T. Mason officiating. Masonic rites will be accorded. Mr. Morris was a native of Columbia County but had lived in Dallas, Texas for 33 years, where he was Employed by Lone Star Gas Co. He was a Mason and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Myra Clarkson Morris; a son, John Wesley Morris, Jr., Dearing; five daughters, Candy Isom and Ruby Morris, Dearing, Geraldine Edgar, Augusta, Amanda Story, Martinez, and Arrie Lanier, Hephzibah; three sisters, Annie Mae Bradford. Augusta, and Frances Hancock and Betty Campbell, Harlem; and three brothers, Junior Morris, Dearing, and Solomon Morris and Pete Morris, Harlem. Prather Funeral Home.
