3/17/2005- The Purcell Register:

Funeral services for George Paul "GP" Farley, 61, of Lexington, were held 3/16/2005 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church with Rev Michael Vaught officiating. Interment was at Lexington Catholic cemetery under direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mr Farley died 3/14/2005 at his home after an 8 year fight with throat cancer.

He was born 4/23/1943, east of Slaughterville, the ninth of eleven children of George Paul Farley & Margaret Mary Feuerborn. He attended school, for the first 2 years, at Alamo, attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Purcell through the eighth grade, and 9th-11th grade at Lexington high school, when he left to work in drywall.

Mr Farley married Loretta Prescher 5/4/1963 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church in Purcell. He built the home the couple have shared for the last 34 years. They had 4 sons, Paul, Shannon, Gregory and Rick. He worked in drywall for 26 years before having a heart attack and stroke.

Mr Farley was a lifelong member of St John the Baptist Catholic Mission in Lexington and Our Lady of Victory Catholic church in Purcell. He was very active in the Pur-Lex Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, George Farley, 3 brothers, Louis Farley, Gene Farley and Gregory Farley, and 1 sister, Barbara.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta of the home, 3 sons, Paul Farley & his wife Kristina and Rick Farley & his wife Melissa, all of Lexington, and Shannon Farley & his wife Niki of Edmond, 2 brothers, Paul & Imagene Farley and Jerry & Ramona Farley, both of Lexington, 4 sisters, Dorothy Osborne of Lexington, Patricia Ann & Dewey McCain of Tehachapi, CA., Gertrude Soldolski of Norman and Mary & Glen Brooks of Lubbock, TX., and 4 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronald Bowling, Frank Andrews, Dennis Fox, Don Arnold, D.R. Cliff and Jerry Vaught.
