Mrs. Hallie Payne Collins, 69, of 124 Morris Ave,, died early Friday morning in Lynchburg General Hospital. Her husband is James L. Collins.

Born in Virginia, she was a daughter of mrs. Irma Coleman Payne of Pamplin and the late Walter Payne, Sr. She was a member of Elon Baptist Church and the AARP.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a son, Earl Osborne of Lynchburg, two daughters, Mrs. James Daughtrey and Mrs. Audrey Smith both of Norfolk; two stepsons, James Collins and Mark Mass,; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Payne, jr. of Pamplin, and three sisters, Mrs. Doris Phiflimlin and Mrs. Margaret Daniels, both of Californiam, and Mrs. Nell Van Hoose of Florida.

Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from Piney Ridge United Methodist Church cemetery by the Revs. William Trimeyer and Thomas Boggs.

Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
