RESIDENT OF MILROY DIES
Mrs. May E. McIlvaine, 85, of Milroy died at St. Charles, Ill., while visiting a son.
In failing health for a long time, Mrs. McIlvaine had been staying with her children and recently visited a daughter in Alaska. Her condition became serious Saturday.
A native of Parke county, where she was born Oct. 24, 1875, Mrs. McIlvaine had lived in the Milroy community since 1910 and was a member of the Milroy United Presbyterian church. Mrs. McIlvaine formerly was a practical nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert McIlvaine, of Geneva, Ill., and Oren McIlvaine, of St. Charles, Ill., two daughters, Mrs. Reba McClure, of Sitka, Alaska, and Mrs. Margaret Parmenter, of Milroy, Rush county attendance officer; a sister, Mrs. Amy Johnston, of Conway, Ark., six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Three children, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
The Murphy funeral home at Milroy is in charge of funeral arrangements.
