Pioneer motion picture theatre operator. He was instantly killed when his auto was struck by an IL Central train east of the city. He had opened a theatre across from the Leland hotel, named the Orpheum. He was the proprietor of the Princess, Gaiety and Vaudette theatres. In 1928 he sold his holdings to the Frisina Amusement Co. and to the Kerasotes Brothers and retired from the motion picture field.
Survived by his stepdaughter Mrs. Harry Thornton; sisters Miss Esther B. Watts of Springfield and Mrs. Kate Smith of Bruster, Wash.; ; one niece and three nephews.
