Jonathon Lemont Pierce, age 32, of Canton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He was born on May 8, 1977, in Canton, to Dorothy Pierce and George Hosenbackez. Jonathon was a 1997 graduate of R.G. Drage Career Technical Center School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan. Jonathon was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and brother, Joseph William Pierce. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Pierce of Massillon; three siblings, Vincent Ruffin, Kelvin Pierce and Kimberly Hosenbackez, all of Canton; six children; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; nieces and nephews; and special friends. A funeral service will be held for Jonathon and his cousin, DeAndre Ruffin, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11am in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (27 4th St. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646) with Pastor Joseph Harkless and Bishop Jeff Caldwell co-officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9am-11am in the church. Burial will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pierce and Ruffin Benevolent Fund at any First Merit Bank location or to Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel to defray funeral expenses.
