Alford Gordon Passes Away Last Thursday
Alford Gordon, well known Postville resident, passed away suddenly last Thursday while at work with a crew of men who are building the Milwaukee stockyards.
Alford A. Gordon was born near Postville on October 15, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gordon, and spent most of his lifetime in this community.
His parents and wife preceded him in death some years ago. Four children survive, Dell, Lyle, Roy, and Iva, as do the following six brothers: Wallace, Howard, Robert and Frank of this community, Oscar of Waterloo and John of Mason City.
The funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon in the Schutte funeral parlors, the Rev. R. F. Galloway officiating, and interment was made in the cemetery at Rossville.
In this connection the family wish to thank the neighbors, friends and the boys at the elevator for the assistance and sympathy in their time of bereavement.
