The death certificate lists his parents as Simon Childers and Susan Robinson, neither of whom could be verified as even existing anywhere in West Virginia between 1850 - 1900. Also, the informant Delph Childers' identification could not be established. The only name close was Delphia Davis Childers, wife of Lewis Childers who was a son of Frank Childers. No relationship to Reuben Dudley Childers could be found. Since no other Reuben D. Childers could be found, I assume that his death certificate is in error -- Dan Myer

I am still inclined to believe the census & marriage records since Reuben gave the info for the marriage record and his parents gave the info for the census records.

Sarah and Reuben were divorced before 1906 and Sarah and Lucy returned to WV. In the 1910 census, Reuben was remarried and living in Hayes, Reno Co., KS. His wife was Isabell and they are listed as having been married for 4 years.
