Obituary:
Claude C. Hall, Sr., 87, of New Bern, died April 18, 2013 at Riverpoint Crest [New Bern, NC].
He joined the Navy in 1943 and served aboard the Cooke Inlet, completing his tour in 1946 with an honorable discharge.
While his children were growing up, he enjoyed singing ballads to them and reading and telling them Uncle Remus stories. On occasion, he helped his grandchildren "check out" of school to accompany him to a cattle auction. Claude enjoyed his grandchildren and he was always ready for a practical joke. He will be sorely missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Guyola A. Hall, one son, C.C. Hall of New Bern; daughters, Gail Hall Warwick of Blounts Creek, NC; Pamela Jane Hall of Kinston, NC; six grandchildren, Andy, Jason and David Hall, Andrea Hall, Warren Casper and Beth Wray, his sister, Annie Lou Lancaster, formerly of Illinois, and his brother, Herman Hall of Georgia.
Services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Cotten Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or [email protected]
