Mr. Oxner was born in Forest, Miss., and had been a longtime resident of Moss Point. He was a longtime radio evangelist and preached on WOSM for 23 years on "Old Tyme Gospel Hour." He was a Mason and a member of Windsor Park First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Johnson Oxner of Moss Point; two daughters, Christine Buntin of Chester, Ill., and Bonnie Leggett of St. Amant, La.; two sons, Richard C. Oxner of LaPlace, La., and Nolan A. Oxner of Arlington, Va.; four step-sons, Elmer Copenhaver of Gulfport, Jimmy Copenhaver of Florida, David Copenhaver of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Paul Copenhaver of Gautier; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs where friends may call one hour before service. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery in Vancleave.
