FRANCES FLORENCE BRADY, age one hundred and six, passed away September 17, 2018, in Lebanon, Missouri. She was born June 18, 1912, in McArthur, North Dakota to Charles (Carl) and Katherine Rippel Wimpfheimer. She was the seventh of eleven children and maintained close ties to her siblings throughout her life.
She grew up in Cavalier, North Dakota, and studied at Mayville State College to become a teacher. She taught in six rural one-room schools and then left North Dakota and teaching to work as a "Rosie the Riveter" in the defense industry during World War II. Later, she joined the Naval Supply Depot in Long Beach, California, where she helped supply the Navy for war in the Pacific. During this time, she met and married Kenneth Brady and became a Navy wife, living in New Orleans, Little Rock, Guam, and Hawaii before settling in Nebo, Missouri.
Frances was involved in many organizations including Falcon-Nebo Extension Club, American Legion, and Avon sales, and she worked as U.S. Census taker. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a long-time member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, where she was the founder of the Women's Missionary Union.
Frances was interested and active in many social activities throughout her life even during her final years of residence at Northridge Place. She is survived by her children, Bob (Kathy) Brady and Robin (Curtis) Heider; grandchildren Kayta Brady (David), Krista Brady (Matt), Benjamin Heider, Clara (Cody) Mitchell; great-grandson, Luca, and sister Virginia Wimpfheimer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Sadie Wimpfheimer, Gladys Bailles, Edna Reopelle, and Irene Willard; five brothers, Charlie, Harold, Ben, Stanley and Clarence Wimpfheimer.
Frances will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
