Ricketts, Sr. of Westville; at home are brothers, Kasey Newlin and Tyler Ricketts, sisters, Ashley Ricketts and Jessica Newlin, and a brother, Kris Newlin is in the U.S. Army; his grandparents, Fred and Ellen Morris of Danville and Thelma Ricketts of Westville; one aunt, Jamie (Kent) Knight of Philo; four uncles, David (Dot) Morris of Danville, Kevin Morris of Urbana, Eric (Betsy) Morris of Indianapolis and Dan (Brenda) Morris of Danville; cousins, Michael Knight of Philo, Megan and Morgan Morris of Danville and Devon Morris of Danville; a special friend, Gary Orr of Fisher; his stepmother, Treasy Ricketts of Westville and three stepsisters. Carle Pediatric Nurses and Dr. Davidson who loved him as one of their own.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Ricketts and an uncle, Michael Morris.
Jeffrey was a member of Catlin Church of Christ and was a second grade student at the Pleasant Acres Elementary School in Rantoul. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He loved playing Sega games and Batman was his idol. He lived life to the fullest. A red-headed boy with a laughing face, he was eager to get to Heaven where he could fly and run without coughing. He earned his wings with grace.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville; Officiating: Dave Thurman and Dave Berger; Burial: Sunset Memorial Park; Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the funeral home and one hour before the funeral sevice on Thursday.
