Wesley Homer Carr was born March 1908 at Campbell's Creek, Kanawha Co., WV to Benjamin Franklin Carr (son of George Warner & Alice Carr) and Minnie M. Reynolds Carr (daughter of John Shannon Reynolds & Mary Hodges Reynolds). Wesley married Gladys Vandall of Fayette Co. and they had seven children: Euldine, Hattie M., Nancy J., James Wesley, Darrell A., Garland, George E. Carr. Wesley owned and operated Keystone Service Station and Garage on Campbell's Creek. He also operated a small convenient store inside the station. Due to his health his sons took over the business who later went into the contracting business. Wesley enjoyed the outdoors and visited his private camp often, that had a cabin, well water, and a foot bridge that crossed over the creek to get into the property accessible by jeep or truck. Wesley was the grandson of George Warner and Alice Carr. Alice the daughter of James Carr was a descendent of Thomas and Diana Carr from Virginia who settled in Kanawha in the early 1800-1805. It wasn't long until after the death of his father Benjamin Franklin Carr in Terra Alta, WV in 1973 that Wesley died in June 1974. His request was to be buried by his mother's grave Minnie Mae Carr at the Blount Cemetery on Spring Fork. After the death of his wife Gladys his body was then moved to Graceland Cemetery to be buried near Gladys his wife.
