Ella G. Bierbaum, 95, Marthasville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at Cedarcrest Manor nursing home, Washington. Mrs. Bierbaum was born Jan. 24, 1908, the daughter of Edwin John Mittler and wife Emma, nee Meyer, in Washington. She was united in marriage to Emmet William Bierbaum Oct. 5, 1929, in Washington. Mrs. Bierbaum was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marthasville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1993; one son, Charles; and one sister, Verna Fink. Mrs. Bierbaum is survived by one son, Kenneth W. Bierbaum and wife Mary, Washington; one daughter-in-law, Jan Bierbaum, Washington; two sisters, Lulu Ridder and Dorris Dothage, both of Marthasville; five grandchildren, Sharon Boland and husband Craig, Judy Swinney, Steven Bierbaum and wife Sue, Kim Hellmann and Joel Bierbaum and wife Karen; 12 great-grandchildren, Rick, Doug, Nichole, Jared, Joshua, Jordon, Sean, Erika, Isaac, Emily, Taylor and Sophia; one stepgreat-grandson, Ben; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marthasville, with the Rev. Don Deeker officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Marthasville are preferred.
The Bierbaum family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.
