Funeral services were conducted in the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church Saturday afternoon for Thomas Lain, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Everett Liter, this city, Wednesday night of last week. The service was in charge of Rev. J. E. Chappell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Mr. Lain had been sick about two weeks.
He was the son of William Harrison and Rachel Jane Irvin Lain and was born in Pike County, MO., Jan. 12, 1874. His wife, the former Laura Bessie Ince, passed away about 25 years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ollie Smith, Mrs. Lyter, amd Mrs. Arleto Kennedy.
