David K. Sprinkle was the son of David Sprinkle & Elisabeth Metz.

He married Sophia Kerr in Feb 1857 in Adams Co., OH. The 1900 census and Sophia's obituary obituary indicate that Sophia gave birth to 12 children, only 5 of whom survived her. We have identified by name 11 of the 12 children: George L.; James L.; Mary E.; Caroline Viola (Salsbury); Stella I. (White); Harry K.; Charles; William C.; Naomi Blanche; Sophia Alma "Alma" (Carrell); & Louis R.

David & Sophia moved back and forth across the Ohio River from Scioto Co., OH to Lewis Co., KY. David started out as a wagon maker but soon got into the lumber business. He seems to have been fairly successful, at least for a time. David & Sophia apparently separated, because at the time the 1900 census was taken, David was living in Cincinnati and Sophia in Elgin, IL. Sophia & her daughter "Alma" later moved to Philadelphia, where son Harry and daughter "Blanche" had moved earlier.

David died in Cincinnati. His death record shows that he was buried in Rome, OH (AKA Stout, OH).
