Evelyn Lou Pelter was the daughter of Waldon Henry Pelter and Wealthy Whitacre.

Evelyn Lou Raesler AMHERST -

Evelyn Lou Raesler (nee Pelter), 84 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was born August 28, 1928 in Elyria, OH. Evelyn lived most of her life in Amherst.

She was employed at Amherst Hospital for twenty-four years before retiring as the Office Manager. Evelyn was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. She was a graduate of the Oberlin School of Commerce. Evelyn was a member of the Sorority ETAZETA chapter Alpha Lota.

Her hobbies included genealogy, cross stitching, word puzzles and was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family. Survivors include her sister and her husband Phyllis and Gerry Korn of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Robert Donald Raesler, on August 1, 2004; her brother Glen Pelter in 2011; and her parents Waldon and Wealthy Pelter (nee: Whitace).

Friends may call Monday, May 6, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ will officiate.

Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst, Ohio.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ; 582 Church Street, Amherst, OH 44001.
