Ezra uniquely was born with only one complete arm. It was said that where his other hand would have been he had the ability to heal people. He was the sexton in Negaunee. Ezra lived with his son Peter much of his last years, although he died at one of his daughters homes in Hibbing, Minnesota. His body was exhumed and reburied In June 1906.
