Newspaper article, date unknown, but before 1936, while she was still in college: Mrs. Helen W Stedman, formerly of Braintree, has recently had some of her poems accepted for publication. She is now working on prose fiction. Miss Gratia Stedman is a student at the Bouve School. She and her mother will spend the summer in IN, where Miss Stedman will study and work in her Uncle's hospital. She plans eventually to make medicine her life work.

Graduate Boston University - Bouve - physical education instructor; worked in Arlington, MA public schools after youngest children were in college. Took several adult education classes in art, drawing, painting, lapidary and jewellry making.

6 Jan 1977: Her Britannic Majesty's Consul General and Mrs Granville Ramage request the pleasure of the company of Mr. and Mrs. John Bellizia at a reception on 6 Jan 1977 from 5:30-7 pm, 15 Chestnut St, Boston 02108, RSVP 261-3060. Memorial from unknown newspaper: Gratia "Gay" Bellizia of Oceanside, CA, formerly of Arlington, passed away Mon, 16 Dec 1996. A 70-yr resident of Arlington, she was a substitute teacher in the Arlington School System from 1958-1968 and an active member of the Arlington Art Ass'n, DAR, and Mothers of Twins. Beloved wife of the late John Bellizia, Gay is survived by her daughter, Heidi Yehling of Oceanside, CA and 3 living children; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Malachy's Church, 99 Bedford St, Burlington, MA on Sun, 29 Dec, at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soroptomist International, PO Box 694, Oceanside, CA 92049 or Palomar Softball Foundation, 1140 W Mission Rd, San Marcos, CA 92069, c/o Mark Eldridge. Oceanside Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gratia was not enumerated on the 1920 census. The family was living in Boston in an apartment at the time the census was taken as WW I was raging and the cost of maintaining Welsted, the family's large estate in Braintree, was too great to remain there. Her father gave the information and totally ingored her, but remembered a boarder living with the family!
