Norman F. Hicks, III, 78, of Lake Charles died at 1:49 AM on Sunday, March 29, 2009 in his residence. Mr. Hicks was born in Lake Charles and lived all his life in the Westlake/Lake Charles area. He was a graduate of Westlake High School. Mr. Hicks was a project manager for several construction companies during his working career. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and believed strongly in taking care of his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Janelle Hicks of Lake Charles; a daughter, Carolyn Marie Hicks of Lake Charles; two sons, Norman F. Hicks, IV and wife Tammy of Roanoke and Bryan Hicks of Lafayette; one sister, Rebecca Ann Evans of Lacentre, KY; five brothers, James N., Warren R., Douglas, and Richard Hicks of Westlake and Jack Hicks of Sulphur; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary being held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
