Creed Harrison Jennings, 85, of Wheatland Hills Retirement Center in Radford, died Friday, December 26, 2003 at New River Valley Medical Center. Born September 7, 1918 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Currell Peter Jennings and Dosca Newman Jennings. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in W.W.II., and was a retired welder with the Iron Workers Union #697. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ruth Cruff, Zelma Southern, Lula Morris, Stella Jennings and Troy Jennings. He is survived by his son, Larry Creed Jennings of Mechanicsville, Va.; a brother, Clinton Jennings of Dublin; one sister; Ersie Morris of Newbern; and one grandson, Jason Michael Jennings of Mechanicsville, Va. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Newbern Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde George officiating. The V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military graveside rites. Visiting will be held Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons.
