Daniel Broadhead was an early PA settler who came with his family from Ulster Co. New York in 1735. He purchased 240-acre tract that he called Dansbury Manor. He was a neighbor to the Depuy family about three miles away. His son Daniel earned a reputation as a military commander in the Amer. Revolution (Berks Co. PA resident at the time). Other sons, Luke and Garrett served in the Revolutionary War effort also while living near their father. Daniel Brodhead did not live to see the new nation--he died in Bethlehem while seeking medical attention there. His body lies in the Old Moravian Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA.
