Son of Robert Arthur & Minerva Harreit W. Craig Campbell.

Last week we chronicled the fact that Arthur Campbell was confined to his bed with a slight attack of plurisy. After a short illness of but a week he succumbed suddenly last Tuesday morning about 7 o'clock.

Arthur Campbell was born at Rushville, Ill, June 30, 1848. He lived with his folks at Dakota City, Iowa, for some years and when he was about twenty-one years of age came to Nebraska. Later he located on a quarter section of land under the tree claim act, being the land now owned by Julius Lamp.

He was married to Miss Emma Wigle on December 30, 1880, and to this union three children were born, two of whom are still living. Jesse who is engaged in constructing and building in Minnesota and Robert who is in St. Louis.

Mrs. Emma Campbell died in 1888 (s/b 1885) and on the 18th day of November 1891, Arthur Campbell was married to Miss Sarah McCurdy. To this union two children were born.

Besides the immediate family the deceased leaves two brothers and three sisters to mourn his loss.

Mr. Campbell has been a member of the Presbyterian church of this place for many years and has always taken an active part in the church work.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. "In life we are we in the midst of death," for "Here have we no continuing city." Surely the Psalmist was inspired when he said: "As for man his days are as grass, as a flower of the field he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it and is gone and the place therof shall know it no more."
