Funeral for Mrs. Edith Ramsey Held
Mrs. Harrison Ramsey, 72 years of age, died Sunday at her home near Ravanna. The funeral was held Monday from the Topsy Church and was conducted by the Rev. V. F. Walker. Burial was made in the cemetery at that place.
Edith Decker, a daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth Decker, was born March 17, 1862 in Noble County, Indiana. Passes away November 11, 1934 at the age of 72 yrs, 7 mos and 24 days. She moved with her parents to Kosciuski County, Indiana, and there grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Harrison Ramsey May 28, 1882. They lived here until 1898 shen they moved to Walworth County, South Dakota. They lived there until 1900 and then moved to Callaway County, Missouri, and on to Mercer County in 1901, where she spent the remainder of her life.
To this union 3 sons and one daughter were born, one child dying in infancy. Those who survive are Carl Ramsey, of Aberdeen, SD; Frank Ramsey, of Lisbon, ND; and Edna Rankin of the home. Besides the sons and daughter, she is also survived by her husband, one brother Ralph Decker, of Lost Springs, Wyoming, 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Ramsey united with Methodist church at Mr. Pleasant, Indiana, and remained faithful to that church until her death. She was a loving wife and a kind and lving mother, always looking for the best in everyone and forever trying to lift them to a higher sphere in life. She was a generous and kind neighbor and will be missed by all her friends and neighbors in this community.
