Wannie F. Gray passed away May 29, 2009. Wannie went to be with the Lord and to join his wife, Margaret Esther, and his step-daughter, Imogene Keller, who preceded him.

He is survived by his nephew, Jack Gray; his son-in-law, Erhard "Whitey" Keller and his wife, Jane; three grandchildren, Kim Keller, Toni Markowski and her husband, Phil, and Sandy Mitchell and her husband, John. He also had three great-grandchildren, Brian Markowski, Jack and Casey Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born August 3, 1913 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He served in the military during World War II in the South Pacific. Upon returning, he continued his education and received his Master's degree in education. He moved to Baltimore in the early 1950s and worked for the State of Maryland in the Penal System, where he rose to Director of Education. Upon retiring, he and his wife moved to Richmond, Virginia to be close to his step-daughter's family.

His remains rest at Bliley's - Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by interment in Dale Memorial Park.
