Funeral services for Mrs. George Doebber were held Sept. 5 at St. Mary's church. The Very Rev. Theo. J. Wrobel officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery. The pallbearers were: Ray Suchy, E. R. Meade, Earl Okerlund, Anton Hammer, Milton Hanson and Carl Klimek.
Esther Martha Doebber was born Feb. 8, 1920 at Wirech, N.D., daughter of Adolph and Elizabeth Middlestead. When Esther was a small girl the Middlestead family moved to Menango, N.D., where she grew to womanhood. She was employed for a short while in Jamestown, N.D., and later at Alexandria, Minnesota.
On May 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to George Doebber. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Doebber farmed in Leaf Valley township for two years and then purchased a farm in Hudson township, where they have made their home for the past thirteen years.
Mrs. Doebber passed away on Sept. 1, 1961 at Our Lady of Mercy hospital at the age of 41 years, six months and 13 days. Surviving her are her husband, George, five children, all at home: Raymond, Mary Ann, Walter, Milo and Beverly. Also surviving are her father, seven sisters and four brothers: Emily (Mrs. Walter Lault) of Ferdonia, N.D., Mathilda (Mrs. Otto Schlouch) and Ida (Mrs. Christ Spiedel) of Menango, N.D., Edna (Mrs. John Doebber) of Parkers Prairie, Leona (Mrs. Kenneth Smith) of Neilsville, Wis., Mabel (Mrs. Arthur Fiegen) of Ashley, N.D., Evelyn (Mrs. Maynard Roll) of Edgeley, N.D., Alfred, Adolph, Walter and Oscar of San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
