ETNA GREEN — Dale E. Watkins, 91, of Etna Green, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw.
He was born Jan. 31, 1921, to Henry and Catherine (Miller) Watkins. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Dale married Mary E. Slabaugh on Sept. 15, 1950, in Cleveland.
She survives along with a son, Greg (Lisa) Watkins of Bourbon; grandsons Stephen (Rachel) Watkins and Bryan (Katie) Watkins, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; great-grandson Liam Watkins of McKenna, Wis.; sisters June Ganshorn of Etna Green and Cleo Brown, Delores Klotz, Phyllis Blosser, all of Nappanee; brother Ernie Watkins of Bourbon; and sister-in-law Eleanor Watkins of Bourbon.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel and for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Nappanee Missionary Church. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery with military graveside rites.
